Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (The Age of Bliss)
The second caliph of the Muslims and a close Companion of the noble Prophet, Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, strengthened Islam through his courage and actions. This book tells the story of Umar for young readers presenting his key achievements and milestones in his life. Umar ibn al-Khattab wandered the streets at night to find people in need, he personally helped the poor and weak and was never tempted by the luxuries or wealth a leader could be expected to enjoy. The leader of the world’s largest empire, he rejected all forms of ostentation, living in a small hut and eating mainly bread and olive oil. His selflessness and modesty inspired many people to accept Islam. After the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, he was the greatest example for believers to follow.

Aisha Bint Abu Bakr (The Age of Bliss)
This book is about Aisha bint Abu Bakr, who was the beloved wife of the noble Prophet, the daughter of the blessed Prophet’s best friend, Abu Bakr and the Mother of the Believers. She is one of the best examples for Muslims to look to for inspiration and her story sheds light on the life of the early Muslims and the Messenger of Allah.

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (The Age of Bliss)
Throughout his life, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (the Truthful) provided a role model to all those around him. Wishing only to earn the pleasure of Allah and His Messenger, he donated all his possessions in the way of Allah and was unswerving in his support of the blessed Prophet. This book presents his extraordinary life alongside with the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The other companions admitted that no one could outdo Abu Bak in exemplifying the true faith. His uprightness and sincerity earned him the honor of being the first Caliph of the Muslim world. He served the people with the greatest humility, dying almost penniless at the age of sixty-three. This book brings to life the remarkable character of Abu Bakr from his birth onwards through the early years of Islam.

Ecstatic Memory: A Glimpse of Rumi
Although there is now a plethora of books by and about Rumi (I noticed an almost exponential increase of Rumi related texts from the 1980s onwards), I thought it might be instructive to republish a small portion of Edward Henry Whinfield’s English translation of Rumi’s Persian masterpiece. I think it is vitally important in today’s social climate to focus on those aspects of Islam which elevate humankind and I can think of no better place to start than with the Sufi mystics of Islam, of which Rumi is the most famous (and perhaps finest) example. Rumi has such a rich understanding of the human condition, and what it yearns for, that he becomes at various turns a sort of “doctor” of the heart. His unbreakable bond with “Shams of Tabriz” exemplifies one of the greatest love stories ever told and though written centuries ago it still resonates today. The following is but a small glimpse of Rumi’s prodigious outpourings. My hope is that readers will want to delve deeper into his writings, since a close analysis of Rumi will undoubtedly benefit the reader in unforeseen ways.
